How to change the DDIC Step User During Transport Release in Transport Manager

In Transport Manager, the DDIC user is the default step user of the job at transport release. However, this default assignment is configurable. You can substitute the DDIC user with a different batch user as needed.

 Solution

There are two distinct scenarios for adjusting the step user during transport release in Transport Management, depending on whether the development system also serves as the TM controller system.

Scenario 1: Development system is the TM controller system

  1. Go to transaction SJOBREPO > Enter RDDIMPDP at job definition range

  2. Select the RDDIMPDP job and go to JD Attributes > Change
Only client 000 is relevant for this adjustment
    E.g.

  3. For field user name enter your batch user > Activate
    E.g.

This solution is only available for S4/HANA configured systems. For more information access https://me.sap.com/notes/3035580

It can take up to one hour until changes to technical job definitions from SJOBREPO take effect on the scheduling of the background job

Scenario 2: Development system differs from TM controller system

  1. In your development system go to transaction SM37

  2. Find the job which runs the loader program (/RTC/TM_LD_15) in status Released or Scheduled

  3. Choose it and go to Job > Change > Step

  4. Select step from the step list and click “Change”
    E.g.

  5. For field user enter your batch user > Check > Save
    E.g.

Note: It is recommended that your batch user is of type 'B' (system) belonging to the user group SUPER and assigned the user profile SAP_ALL.
