How to Install the SmartChange Eclipse Plugin (with SAP ADT Add-On)

Introduction

Eclipse has been extended with this plugin to prevent unnecessary short dumps in popups, which previously required the SmartChange Add-On.

The plugin currently provides the following feature:

  • Assign TM Project/Destination
    Allows you to assign a project/destination to a modifiable transport request.

Prerequisites

  • SAP ADT Add-On for Eclipse must be installed.

  • SmartChange SP07 HF03 package or higher is required.

Step 1: Open Eclipse and Start the Installation

  1. Launch Eclipse.

  2. Navigate to the menu: Help → Install New Software...

Step 2: Add the SmartChange Eclipse Plugin

  1. In the Install dialog, click the Add... button.

  2. In the popup, click Archive... and select the plugin archive file: eclipseToTMPlugin <latestVersion>.zip

  3. Confirm your selection.

 

Step 3: Select the Plugin Features

  1. In the next screen, select SmartChange ADT from the list of available features.

  2. Click Next to proceed.

 

  1. Review the installation details and accept the license agreement if prompted.

  2. Click Finish to start the installation.

Step 4: Complete the Installation

  1. Eclipse will download and install the plugin. This may take a few moments.

  2. If you see a security warning about unsigned content, confirm that you want to continue.

  3. When prompted, restart Eclipse to complete the installation.

Step 5: Verify the Installation

  1. After Eclipse restarts, open your ABAP project.

  2. Go to the Transport Organizer tab.

  3. Highlight a modifiable request and right-click it.

  4. You should now see an additional menu entry:
