How Can I Display Modifiable Requests in the TM Workflow Monitor?
The TM Workflow Monitor provides the ability to display and manage modifiable transport requests. This feature allows users to view all transport requests that are still in modifiable status (not yet released) in the development system. The visibility of modifiable requests can be configured individually per user.
Feature Configuration
To enable the display of modifiable requests for a user:
Navigate to SmartChange > Settings > User dependent
(or global for all new users SmartChange > Settings > Global > Default User Settings)In the Selection section, activate the flag "Display Modifiable Requests"
Save the configuration
Result: After activation, a new tree node "Modifiable requests" appears in the TM Workflow Monitor navigation tree, showing all modifiable transports organized by transport system and client.
Initial Data Load for Existing TM Environments
If the TM Workflow Monitor was already in use before activating this feature, existing modifiable transports need to be loaded into the system. There are two methods to accomplish this:
Method 1: Report Execution
Execute the report /RTC/TM_FILL_MODIFIABLE_TR on the TM Controller:
The report can be executed for each development system individually
It loads all current modifiable transports into the TM Workflow Monitor
Method 2: Manual Reload Button
Use the "Reload from Development System" button in the TM Workflow Monitor:
Located in the Modifiable requests view toolbar
Provides the same result as the report execution
Both methods populate the TM Workflow Monitor with all existing modifiable transports, organized by SAP system and client.
Automatic Updates and Refresh Behavior
Automatic Display of New Transports
Once the feature is activated:
Newly created transports are automatically displayed in the TM Workflow Monitor
No manual intervention is required for new transports
Display Refresh
The list of modifiable requests is automatically updated when:
The TM Workflow Monitor is opened
The Refresh button in the TM Workflow Monitor is clicked
Consistency Check
The "Reload from Development System" button can be clicked at any time:
Performs a consistency check of the displayed data
Validates and corrects the display if necessary
Under normal operation, this button is rarely needed after initial setup
Managing Modifiable Requests
Hiding Old Transports
If you have very old transports that should not be displayed:
Select one or more modifiable requests
Click the "Delete" button in the toolbar
The transports are removed from the display
Important: This is not a physical deletion – the transports are only hidden from the TM Workflow Monitor view.
Restoring Hidden Transports
To display previously hidden transports:
Click the "Add deleted requests" button in the toolbar
Select the transports you want to restore
The transports reappear in the Modifiable requests view
Additional Features for Modifiable Requests
Start ToC (Transport of Copies)
Select one or multiple modifiable requests
Click the "Start ToC" button
Initiate transport of copies for the selected requests
Change Project/Destination
Modify the assigned project/destination for modifiable requests
Available if the project/destination can be assigned during transport creation
Use the "Project/Destination" button in the toolbar
Notes and Best Practices
The configuration is applied per user – each user must activate the feature individually
The "Reload from Development System" button performs a comprehensive consistency check and is useful for troubleshooting display issues
Hiding old transports helps keep the view clean and focused on relevant work
The modifiable requests view integrates seamlessly with other TM Workflow Monitor functions
