Configure status switcher
Workflow steps can be switched automatically via the switcher program.
In a classic 3-system landscape, status transitions after successful import into the next transport level into the status Signature are useful.
To configure this function, open transaction code /RTC/TM_SW.
Switcher variant for Development (to switch from status Development Current to Quality Signature):
Change to edit mode, put your cursor into the desired level and click on New entry.
Enter a variant name and select from status and to status values.
Maintain value for maximum tolerated return code.
No restriction for Projects and Destinations.
After saving, the variant is displayed under the corresponding level.
Switcher variant for Quality (to switch from status Quality Current to Production Signature):
Enter a variant name and select from status and to status values.
Maintain value for maximum tolerated return code.
No restriction for Projects and Destinations.
After saving, the variant is displayed under the corresponding level.
Switcher variant for Production (archiving to Workflow History):
Enter a variant name and select from status and to status values.
Maintain value for maximum tolerated return code. For the Production level we decide to switch to history after 7 days.
No restriction for Projects and Destinations.
After saving, the variant is displayed under the corresponding level.
Activate status switcher variants:
Select variants one by one and clock on Activate.
Make sure that all variants are activated.
Schedule status switcher job.
Click on Schedule.
Enter job parameters. 2 minutes is a good start value (impatient developers).
Confirm dialog.
Confirm message.
